Every price includes shampoo, nails, ears and a text when they’re ready. Weight is a guide: a 40 lb doodle in full coat grooms like a large.

Combed out, or clipped short
Mats pull on the skin every time a dog moves. We check the coat at hand-over and tell you which way we’d go, and why, before we start.
Comb it out
For looser mats behind the ears, in the armpits and down the legs. We stop at 30 minutes, because past that it hurts.
Clip under it
When mats sit tight to the skin, we clip underneath with a short blade (usually a #7F) and the coat grows back soft in six to eight weeks. We call you first.
A quiet room for cats
Tue & Thu mornings, June shuts the cat room door and it’s cats only. No barking through the wall, no dryers roaring next door.
Carrier in, carrier out
Your cat goes from the counter straight to the cat room. No waiting in the lobby next to a beagle.
Towel first, quiet dryer second
Most cats are towel-dried and finished on the lowest setting. If they hate it, we put it down.

Two cats a morning, at most
June books one cat at a time, so nobody hears another cat complaining. Most are done in about 90 minutes.
Walk in, wash, walk out
No booking. Pay at the counter, grab an apron and take any free tub by the side door on Tenino. Dogs only, one per tub, and we clean up after you.

Oatmeal for itchy skin, degreaser for river mud.

Leftover shampoo is what makes dogs itch.

Dryer on low, and keep it off the face.

The fine print, in plain words
First-time clients sign this once at the counter. After that we only ask again if something changes.
Vaccinations
Rabies is required for every dog and cat, with proof from your vet. We also recommend bordetella for dogs, since they share the air with other dogs all day. Your vet can email records to us before your first visit.
Fleas
If we find fleas, we switch to a flea bath ($25) before anything else and clean the room behind them. We text you so you can treat the house and the bedding too.
Matting
We comb out for up to 30 minutes at $15 per 15. Past that, we call and recommend a shave-down. Comfort comes before length, every time.
Nervous or snappy pets
Tell us when you book. If a pet might bite, we use a soft basket muzzle: it keeps everyone safe and lets us keep going gently. We never sedate. If a pet is too stressed to finish, we stop, call you and charge only for the time used.
Seniors and special needs
Ruth takes most of our seniors. Older dogs get a mat to stand on, breaks and extra time at no charge. For heart conditions or seizures, we may ask for a note from your vet first.
Running late
There’s a 15-minute grace period. After that we may need to shorten the service or move you to another day.
Cancelling
Please give us 24 hours. Cancellations inside 24 hours and no-shows are $30. Sick pets are the exception: just call.
Pick-up
We text a photo and a pick-up time. Please collect within an hour of that text. Dogs who wait rest on a bed behind the counter, never in a crate.

How often should my dog be groomed?
It depends on the coat. Curly and doodle coats: every 4 to 6 weeks. Long silky coats like shih tzus and yorkies: every 4 to 8. Double coats: a deshed each spring and fall, with a bath in between. Short coats: a bath and nails every 6 to 8 weeks, or whenever they roll in something.

Can I stay and watch?
You’re welcome to stay for the hand-over, and for a puppy’s first visit. Most dogs settle faster once their person has gone, so we don’t have owners in the grooming room. We text a photo the minute they’re done.

Do you sedate?
No, never. We aren’t vets, and sedation on a grooming table isn’t safe. If a pet can’t cope, we stop, call you, and plan a few shorter visits instead.

What shampoo do you use?
An oat and aloe wash on most dogs (it’s on the shelf by the till), a fragrance-free one for sensitive skin, and a whitening shampoo on request. If your vet has prescribed a shampoo, bring it in and we’ll use that.

Why do doodles cost more?
A doodle coat tangles faster, holds more water and takes longer to scissor evenly. The extra $20 covers about 30 more minutes on the table. Brushing down to the skin between visits keeps dematting off the bill.

Any tips for a first visit?
Walk them before drop-off, bring rabies proof, and tell us what you liked or hated about their last groom. A photo of a cut you love helps more than any description. A first full groom runs a little long while we get to know them.

Do you take walk-ins?
For nails, yes: Tuesday to Saturday, 1:00 to 4:00. The self-wash tubs are always walk-in. Full grooms, bath and tidies, desheds and the cat room need a booking.
